Scratch 'n' Match: mobile paint & scratch repair
FAQ · THE COMMON QUESTIONS

Everything people ask before they book.

The honest answers on how a mobile paint repair works, what it costs versus claiming, and how to get a quote, straight from Mark, not a call centre.

01: THE REPAIR

The repair itself.

How a mobile paint repair actually works, on your driveway, matched to your car.

Do you really come to my home?

Yes. Mark repairs on your own driveway across all four regions, the Upper & Lower North Shore, Northern Beaches and The Hills District. No panel-shop drop-off, no hire car, no leaving your car anywhere.

Will the repair match my paint?

Every repair is matched to your car's manufacturer's factory colour and blended into the surrounding clear coat, so it disappears into the panel. It's backed by a 12-month workmanship warranty.

What kinds of damage do you fix?

Paintwork: bumper scuffs, panel scratches and scuffs, body kit repairs, respraying, minor scratches and scuffs, and headlight restoration, all matched to your factory colour.

Do you do dents?

No, Mark specialises purely in paintwork. If your car has a dent as well, he'll tell you honestly when you send a photo, so you know where you stand before anything is booked.

How long does a repair take?

Most jobs are done in 2–3 hours, on the spot, while you get on with your day. Mark will confirm the timing for your specific repair when he quotes it.

Do I need to be home the whole time?

Just enough to let Mark access the car and the repair area. Many customers hand over the keys and carry on with their day, he'll let you know what he needs when you book.

How long will the repair last?

It's a permanent repair, not a touch-up. The colour is matched and blended into the existing clear coat and finished to last, backed by a 12-month workmanship warranty.

02: COST & INSURANCE

Cost, claims & insurance.

Why paying Mark directly usually beats claiming, and why there's no price list.

How much does a repair cost?

Every car and every scratch is different, so there's no set price list, the quote depends on the size of the damage, which panel, the paint type, the colour blend and whether it's one panel or several. Enter your postcode, send Mark a photo, and you'll get a free, no-obligation quote back, usually the same day during business hours.

Why don't you publish prices?

Because a rate card would only ever be wrong for your car. The honest answer is a quote for the actual damage in your photo, faster, free and more accurate than any price list. What we can promise: cheaper than the competition, and less than your excess.

Is it cheaper than claiming on insurance?

Almost always. Most repairs cost less than your insurance excess, and unlike a claim, you keep your no-claim bonus, avoid a premium hike, and keep it off your record.

Will claiming on insurance affect my premium?

Typically, yes. An at-fault claim usually costs you your no-claim bonus and lifts your premium at renewal for years, often by more than the repair itself. For a bumper scuff or a scratch, that's rarely worth it.

Is mobile repair cheaper than a panel shop?

Generally, yes, and far less hassle. There's no drop-off, no hire car and no week without your car. Mark fixes it on your driveway, usually in 2–3 hours, matched to your factory colour.

How do I pay?

Mark takes card payment on the spot from his phone once you're happy with the finished repair. No deposit to send a photo and get a quote, and no obligation.

03: AREAS & BOOKING

Areas & booking.

Where Mark works, how fast he replies, and the few steps to get a quote.

Which suburbs do you cover?

The Upper & Lower North Shore, Northern Beaches and The Hills District. Enter your postcode on the site to check your suburb in seconds.

What if I'm just outside the area?

Mark also covers a short buffer just beyond the four regions. Send your postcode through anyway, if you're close, he'll let you know whether he can still come to you.

How does the photo quote work?

Check your postcode, snap a photo of the damage and add your details. Mark replies personally, usually within 24 hours during business hours, with a fixed quote. No call centre, no obligation.

How quickly will I hear back?

Usually the same day during business hours, and within 24 hours at the latest. Every reply comes from Mark himself, not a call centre.

What are your hours?

Mark works Monday to Friday, 7am–6pm. Send a photo any time and he'll get back to you during business hours.

Are you insured?

Yes, fully insured, with a registered Australian business and a 12-month workmanship warranty on every repair.
